COURSE DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the Migrant Tutorial Lab is to serve the academic needs of all
migrant students. It is a learning environment offering opportunities for
migrant students to get caught up with missed course work either by attending
a morning class or attending after school tutorial class. Subjects offered are the
core classes needed for graduation. Students also have the opportunity to gain
extra credit or advance a course of study. The migrant lab is conducive to student
success. Students use the skills of critical thinking, analyzing, interpreting, research and self-discipline as these courses are self-paced. The core subjects such as Mathemathics, Social Studies, Science and English are offered in API (American Preparatory Institute) Modules or booklets and the A-PLUS program. All opportunities for success are found in the Migrant Tutorial Lab.
GRADING POLICY
Each module grade must equal to an 70 or better.
The final exam grade must equal to a 70 or better.
The final average, after adding the module grades divided by the number of Modules X 3 plus the final exam divided by 4, must equal to an 70 or better.
(Final average passing grade equals to an 70 or better.)
CLASSROOM RULES
1. Adhere to al B.I.S.D. dress code and conduct policies.
2. Attend class and be on time everyday.
3. Bring all necessary school materials to class.
4. Be respectful to self and others.
5. Keep room clean.
6. Respect teacher’s personal items in the classroom. Teacher’s desk area is off limits to students. Please show your respect.
